Whirlwind Steel is a metal building manufacturer that provides a variety of steel building products. Included in their product list are green metal building components and renewable energy options for steel buildings.
Whirlwind Steel is dedicated to providing steel building products with minimal environmental impact. Their green line of metal building components is made from scrap metal, and designed with intent to again be reincarnated many years from now with further recycling. The steel buildings made from their green materials earn LEED points for solar energy, emissivity, reflectivity, rainwater collection and a selection of Energy Star colors.
Besides offering eco-friendly recycled metal steel building products, their innovative product list also includes solar roofing material. Their roof materials are built to both harness and conserve energy. Whirlwind Steel builds long lasting steel buildings that use environmental resources for renewable impact, while making sure to have the least impact on the environment.
'Sustainability' is a buzzword today, and technologies that foster conservation, reclamation, energy alternatives, improved air quality and/or less carbon output are more popular than ever. Solar water heating satisfies several of these 'green' goals and is a money-saving strategy to boot.
Solar water heating systems are able to make use of one of the environment's most abundant, 'free' resources and turn it into an economic alternative that nearly everyone can use. Long utilized in Japan, India, Europe and China, solar water heating (SWH), also known as solar hot water (SHW) is a simple and inexpensive alternative to the more typical gas-fired or electric water heating systems, especially in warm weather climes.
Though not totally reliable for hot water production in consistently cold weather, solar systems can be augmented by small electric or gas-powered units for these times. For most, solar hot water makes very good sense.
